I do want people to realize, though, that this isn’t so much about “illegal immigrants” as it is specifically Romani people, who are despised throughout Europe even if we are citizens. This has been going on since we left India. Nazism and racism never went away for us. Don’t get me wrong, immigrants – legal or otherwise – are treated terribly in Europe and everywhere else. But the situation for Roma specifically is getting exponentially worse in the past few years and we need to do something about it.
This is absolutely horrifying.
btw If you’re one of the people who complained that the mean Jews and Roma asked you to be respectful with your Holocaust comparisons, yet you’re not loudly making them now, in light of a former axis power literally rounding up Romani people like the fucking OVRA then you’re exactly proving our point.
